The Asian Shippers Council anchors a Permanent Secretariat in Sri Lanka. The agreement was reached at the recent meeting in Colombo. The Council reached a consensus to locate its Permanent Secretariat in Colombo at the conclusion of the 5th Annual Meeting in Colombo. The Council members unanimously opted to move its current Secretariat from Singapore to a Permanent Secretariat in Colombo. The handing over of the report of the Asian Shippers Council to the President took place under the patronage of Minister Chamal Rajapaksa. The Council is optimistic that this will be a boost to Sri Lanka to build her image internationally and achieve a major growth in the shipping and trading sectors. General Secretary of the Asian Shippers Council Rohan Masakorale, Chairman of the Airport and Aviation Services Company Prasanna Wickramasuriya and Shavendra Rajapaksa were present on this occasion.
