Show the World What the Escapees from LTTE Have To Say

Addthis
The LTTE terrorism will die out the day they are denied the civilian human cover, which they are so shamelessly hiding behind, which is the truth behind their bloated prowess of military strength. The LTTE terrorists keep lying through their teeth that the civilian IDPs in the conflict areas are killed by the State, while the LTTE themselves are placing the civilians deliberately in the firing line for their own advantage. When the international community laments about the plight of those innocent Tamil civilians, they hardly ever come forward and demand the LTTE to release the entrapped people or threaten the LTTE of dire consequences if they do not heed to the urgent call.
Yet, the groups of people who have dared to walk away from the LTTE’s virtual prison and escape into the government controlled areas speak about the reality with the LTTE-held IDP’s. They talk about the hardships they have had to face and the inhuman treatment they have been receiving at the hands of the LTTE in terms of forceful proscription of children and adults to fight the State armed forces. They say that the trapped IDPs are all willing to escape into the government-controlled areas but they are unable to do as they please due to the LTTE's "Do not leave" order. These civillians reveal that the LTTE operates death squads to kill any IDPs trying to flee despite their order. Yet, some have braved the odds and have been lucky enough to live to tell their horrid story.

The testaments of these innocent civillians are living proof for the cruelty of the LTTE, which has been plunging this island into a bloodbath for more than two decades and counting. Therefore, it is high time that the authorities took steps to record what these Tamil escapees have to say and reveal their true story to the entire world outside who are hoodwinked by the LTTE with a concocted story of State genocide against Tamils. It is not enough to report these civillian stories in a website or two or print in a few newspapers as and when it happens. Such goes unnoticed most of the time and it fails to make the impact that it should, and the LTTE propagandists make the best of our inaction.

Thus, it is the onus of the government to make way to enable the world community listen to the plight of these LTTE-held civilians in their very own voices. Let their stories be heard by everyone and realize that it is in fact the LTTE, the self-appointed liberators of Tamil people, who have been carrying out the genocide against the Tamils and all other civilians of this country, not the State, as cunningly projected by the LTTE propaganda machine. It is the need of the hour. Sooner the world realizes what the LTTE is doing with the IDPs, the better. It will help create a world opinion against the LTTE to release the civilians that they are trapping in the Wanni jungles to evade total annihilation at the hands of the State's security forces.
