Air Force Spokesman Wing. Commander Janaka Nanayakkara has pointed out that the terrorists had brought a large quantity of powerful C-4 explosives in the airplanes which were destroyed.

Briefing journalists at the Media Centre for National Security, the Wing Commander said there were many explosives within the plane destroyed in Katunayake. The bomb disposal squad of the Air Force recovered 10 boxes of C-4 explosives. Each weighed 16 kilograms. The total quantity of C-4 explosives within the plane was 230 kilograms. He pointed out that there was also a barrel with 50 kilograms of C-4 explosives. The right hand of the terrorist pilot was injured in anti aircraft gunfire.
