Sri Lanka has received the opportunity to undertake business in other countries as a proud nation. This observation has been made by Chairman of the Exporters Association Rohan Fernando. Chairman Rohan Fernando said foreign investment thrives on the exports. The war was a major problem and the North was a prohibited area. There were suspicion and fear in arriving in Colombo as well. There was no certainty about the future. The conflict has ended without the country being rendered helpless. He said they were entering the international arena not as a failed nation. They can develop the market on the strength of the country. As exporters, they are confident that there would be a good export market in the future. He was addressing the media to appraise about the Export Awards Festival which is being organised by the Sri Lanka National Exporters Council. Many issues encountered by Sri Lanka had been sorted out with the end of the war. As such, he said this years awards festival will be of significance. All arrangements are being finalized for the awards festival on the 25th of this month. The handing over of the sponsorship cheque for the event took place on this occasion.
