In order to meet the energy needs of the rural poor, needs of the rural poor, Practical action got involved in promoting community based renewable energy technology such as micro hydro, biogas and wind. These projects undertaken since 1989 have successfully introduced clean energy options that light-up many remote villages in Sri Lanka.
